Victoria Schreiber, M.A., LMSW
Psychotherapist & Psychoanalyst
I am a Child and Adolescent Psychoanalyst and an Adult, Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist. This is a fancy way of saying that I provide “Talk Therapy”. I hold LMSW, and LPC licenses in the State of Michigan. Both of these Licenses are widely recognized by commonly held insurance carriers.
My postgraduate education took place at both the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute and the highly acclaimed Hanna Perkins Center for Child Development, located in Cleveland Ohio. I am currently on the faculty of the Hanna Perkins Center for Child Development, as well as on the Child Faculty at the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute. I am a member of the American Psychoanalytic Association and the Michigan Psychoanalytic Society and past president of Michigan Psychoanalytic Institutes’ The Association for Psychoanalytic Thought.
With a warm, thoughtful, and caring approach I hope to help you overcome your and/or your child’s difficulties and gain greater insight into the issues underlying them. The main goal is to help you or your child understand yourselves better, form healthier relationships, and live a more productive life.
I am very committed to helping you work in the most meaningful way toward reaching your full potential. Problems do not necessarily have to be severe to justify making the first call for help.
Just as all relationships in our lives evoke a variety of emotions, so can working with a new therapist. Working together will hopefully help you find ways to better recognize and manage distressing emotional experiences (i.e. anxiety and depression). This can then lead to more hopeful, and joy filled relationships.
I am also available to provide consultation services to local schools, day care centers and pre-schools as well as providing In-service education to grief support groups, educators and social service agencies.
